One of the best and most well-established wine grape farms in South Africa. The farm harvested 3,715 tons in 2016. The estimated harvest projection will be at 5,000 tons in 2 years. Ample water is available from three earth dams with a joint capacity of 150,000m3. Furthermore, the farm is certified for water usage rights out of the Hex River Water Scheme, Worcester Oos Water Users Association and Central Breede River Water Users Association. Building plans of another dam with the capacity of 684,000m3 have already been approved by the Department of Water Affairs. However, the farm has more than enough water to supply current cultivated land. The proposed new dam is for planned establishment of new vineyards on the farm. The irrigation of the current vineyards are fully automated and can be controlled remotely from your cell phone and or PC. The water pump stations are secured with an alarm system and armed response. This highly mechanized farm functions with very little manual labour. The selling price includes all farming equipment. The full list of equipment, tractors, harvesting trailers, grape harvesters, pre-pruners, blowers, trimmers, water pumps and all tools, fittings and other extras will be made available on request. Currently 128 Ha of the farm is under vineyards of which 6 Ha can be replaced by the new owners with an additional 14 Ha. Many young vineyards were planted the last 5 years: 14.5 Ha planted in 2016; 10 Ha planted in 2015; 18 Ha planted in 2014; 5 Ha planted in 2013; 11 Ha planted in 2012; 11 Ha planted in 2011; 6 Ha planted in 2010. White cultivars: Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Colombar. Red cultivars: Cabernet, Ruby Cabernet, Merlot, Shiraz and Pinotage. The farm produces just over 11,5% of the grapes delivered to Aan de Doorns Co-operative Cellar situated right next to the farm. The projected delivery for 2018 is 13 %. The sale of the farm also includes the shares at Aan de Doorns Co-operative Cellar. The Cellar has a share in the First Cape organisation which is big in the UK. The main residence, with its beautiful wooden floors, has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, very spacious living areas and a lovely kitchen. Outside you will find an office, well-maintained swimming pool and a thatched roof bachelor flat. The manager's residence consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living areas, and kitchen. Four newly renovated cottages are occupied by tenants with a rental income of R 3,800.00 each per month. There are three barns/sheds on different strategic places on the farm, one storeroom and also a milking shed and horse stable. The 12 workers cottages have no permanent tenure. No restitution claims exist against the property. Eskom electricity is available to all cottages. For sale as a going concern at 0% VAT (Seller is VAT registered). Pragtige uitsigte. Sterk boorgat en fonteine, losgoed ingesluit. This little railway town, which is the divide between the Hex River Valley and the Central Karoo, is situated some 185kms east of Cape Town on the N1. As it lies on the edge of the Karoo in the foothills of the Matroosberg Mountains, Touws River is known as the ‘Gateway to the Karoo’. Touws River is situated less than 2 hour’s drive from Cape Town and Cape Town International Airport, making it the ideal location for a country break-away property, a weekend home, or a weekend getaway farm where you can try your hand at being a part-time sheep farmer. Touws River is only an hour’s drive from Worcester – a town that offers great medical care, has a Mall with all the major chain stores, and excellent schools. De Doorns, with its extensive export table grape industry, is the nearest town to Touws River. The vegetation of the area is predominantly succulent Karoo interspersed with stretches of Renosterveld and some cultivated lands, especially along the Touws River itself. Surrounded as it is by the Matroosberg mountains, the area also has some spectacular geological features such as sandstone folding that dates back to the Cape Fold Mountain geological activity that occurred over 150 million years ago. Touws River has its origins in the days of booming railways: In 1877 a railway station was built on the banks of the Touws River and named Montagu Road. In 1883 the name of the station was changed to Touws River, meaning the River of the Pass. Touws River was the first major staging post and locomotive deport north of Cape Town during the building of the Northern railway line. Today, still, the graveyard of old steam engines is a major attraction. Situated at the edge of the Karoo, Touws River is surrounded by sheep farms – the major source of income for the area. Several farms in the area have also been developed as game farms. But Touws River also offers other interesting attractions. With its hot summers and cool winters it is not called an astrological paradise, a nature-lovers and an outdoor enthusiasts dream for nothing! So, whether you are just looking for the perfect weekend getaway, or you are in search of country living and/or affordable housing, Touws River offers the following activities to both visitors to, and residents of, this quiet little town: Aquila Private Game Reserve Anysberg Nature Reserve Touws River Nature Reserve Birding Bushmen paintings Hiking Star gazing Venus Astrology site Museums 4x4 and mountain biking trails Easy access to Hex River Valley and Ceres Karoo
