This haven lies about 40 km from Somerset East, totally tucked away between surrounding hills and vast spaces of nothing but field. The fence, being kept in good condition, CAE certified, is an indication of what to expect but nothing prepared me for the sight just over the little hill. What a surprise! My first sight of the newly planted pomegranate orchid and the neatness of the whole set-up was a pleasant surprise. The homestead and outer buildings were all very well taken care of and the interior of the house made me wish that I could stay there! I could not wait, however to actually see the farm as this was by far one on the neatest places I have ever been on. Driving around on the open vehicle I could easily imagine a time before humans possessed everything. It was just magical to be able to almost able to touch the animals, magnificent beasts all in good condition. The field are in superb condition and spekboom was planted by the thousands all over the farm. Spekboom is one the most valuable plants this area has to offer and once these plants are grown there will be food in abundance for the animals. The animals grazing the farm are: 45 Kudu 20 Ribbok 30 Blesbok 50 Springbok 6 Giraffe 40 Impala 14 Rooihartebees 11 Nyala 6 Zebra 8 Waterbuck 6 Gemsbok 6 Sable Antelope 8 Duikers 10 Steenbokkies And they are all inclusive of the sale. Water is provided by three boreholes, fully equipped, and connected to tanks which on their turn provide water to drinking points, house and outer buildings. The house has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and huge, welcoming living rooms and a kitchen most women crave. The guest cottage has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The trees ,9000 of them, will start producing fruits in 2019.The plants were inspected by a professional recently and were declared in a very good healthy state. The fertilizer id automatically added directly to drip irrigation and you only need to switch the pump on or off. This is really a perfect example of living a lifestyle most people desire and opportunity.
