One of a kind excellent stock farm in the Steytlerville district available to the discerning buyer. The farm is especially suited to sheep and goat farming, as well as some cattle farming. But it also boasts superior self-catering guest farm facilities, which include a fully equipped function venue. The main guesthouse has six en-suite family rooms, with ample room for a further 20+ guests in two more homesteads with excellent facilities in close proximity. Hunting forms part of the farm income and a variety of game is available. Natural veld grazing consists of typical Noorsveld and Karoo shrubs and "bossieveld", with the added benefit of the "Groot River" running through the property, with a variety of trees (Acacia Karoo, etc.) covering the river banks, allowing for additional feed for the Angora Flock, the Nguni cross cattle and Dorper sheep currently on the farm. Mountain areas are well covered with inter alia "spekboom" and wild fig. The official grazing capacity of the farm is 1:20 LSU, converting to approximately 1:3 SSU, which means 2100+ sheep, or 3000 Angora goats. The farm is divided into 40 well-watered camps and has all facilities available for shearing, dipping, stock handling and storage. Being close to the town of Steytlerville, staff, by choice, resides in town. Staff quarters are thus not in use. Water for irrigation purposes used to be available from the Beervlei Dam Irrigation Scheme, but since the Dam no longer holds any water in reserve, and because of the prolonged drought, irrigation was stopped several years ago. Strong borehole water might rectify this situation and would be sufficient to re-establish the 100 hectare of irrigation acreage. Despite the prolonged drought, the vegetation shows encouraging signs of recovery from recent rains, and thanks mainly to the owner's insistence on farming in harmony with nature. The property is divided into thirteen separately registered sections or inner camps. For further information, feel free to contact the agent.
